Install the Facebook Javascript SDK.
If you already have a like button, you can skip this step.
Find it on the Facebook Like Button website. Look under "Step 1 - Get Like Button Code". Don't bother filling anything in, just click the button that says "Get Code".
Copy what appears in the first text box only. Per the instructions, put it on your page once, ideally right after the opening <body> tag. -
Place the following code on your page, wherever you want the button to appear.
- Be sure to add "Open Graph" tags to your page. These let you control what shows up on FB when the button is clicked. Use the Facebook Like Button link, search for Get Open Graph Tags, and follow their instructions. Their system is brittle; check your work with the Facebook URL Linter.
